NDLEA UNCOVERS HARD DRUGS FACTORY IN LAGOS

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has uncovered a clandestine hard drugs factory in Ojo area of Lagos State.
The factory specialises in making methamphetamine.
The Chairman of the NDLEA, Alhaji Ahmadu Giade, said the laboratory being run by a cartel is a three-bedroom bungalow located in Iba, Ojo.
According to Giade, the factory has the capacity to produce between 20 and 50 kilogrammes per day, making it a large production centre similar to the ones in Mexico.
This discovery is the first of its type in West Africa and the country.
Umezurike, the leader of the gang, built the house for the purpose of making the illegal drug has been arrested .
The bubble burst when one Ndilobi demanded the money Umezurike owed him. When Umezurike refused to pay him, Ndilobi threatened to opt out.
"Ndilobi was locked up by the gang and they threatened to kill him. At night, Ndilobi broke the ceiling and escaped through the roof. When he got out, he was arrested by the police who suspected his movements. He later confessed to the police and the NDLEA was contacted."
When the NDLEA got to the house, the laboratory had been cleaned but there were still traces of illicit drug production.
Ofoyeju said Umezurike denied any involvement and later sued the NDLEA for infringing on his fundamental human rights and the agency also counter-sued him after finding evidence linking him with the firm.
However, Umezurike, on Thursday maintained his innocence, saying, "I am an oil and gas dealer and my depot is in NNPC Warri. These people are infringing on my fundamental human rights."
Meanwhile, forensic experts from the United States have commenced the dismantling of the laboratory and removal of materials used in the production of the drug.
the street value of a kilogramme of methamphetamine is N2.5m. But the same kilogramme costs between N15m and N16m in Europe.

Hmmm Whatever the atrocities, Nigerians have done it..na wa o
