Mikel Obi is 7th Best Paid African Player

Nigeria’s midfielder, Jon Obi Mikel has been ranked as the seventh highest paid African footballer abroad. 
In a survey published yesterday by Forbes, Ivorian and Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure, with an annual salary of $13.5 million, is the highest paid African player in the world.
Mikel, who plays for Chelsea grosses $5,800,000 in annual income from salary.Soccer is big business, and the players- the talented, the savvy and the fluky-have benefitted immensely from satisfying the cravings of enthusiastic, idolizing fans.
Stars like Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have earned colossal fortunes playing the game they love.
And African players have not been left out in the magic of it all. Based solely on their annual salaries, these are the highest-paid African soccer players:
